Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2025. These terms apply when you use our website or engage our services.
1. Who we are
These terms are between you and NxtlvlBuilds ("we", "us", "our"), a joinery and construction business operating in South Yorkshire & UK. Contact: NxtlvlBuilds@proton.me, 07488 279 962.
2. Scope of our services
We design, build and install joinery-led work including but not limited to: bespoke media walls (studwork, plasterboard, finishing, integrated shelving and cabinetry), flooring (LVT, laminate, hardwood, herringbone), garden rooms, doors, wardrobes, office builds, stud and partition walls, skirting, dry lining, and related carpentry and finishing. We do not hold ourselves out as electricians, gas engineers, or structural engineers.
3. Electrical work — important disclaimer
We are not qualified or registered electricians. We have not represented at any time that we are trained electricians, and we do not carry out fixed electrical installations (e.g. new circuits, consumer unit work, or permanent wiring) ourselves.
Our work may include: cutting and preparing recesses or channels for cables; installing back boxes or mounting points; fitting non‑electrical elements (e.g. shelving, pelmets, trim) around or near areas where lighting or sockets will be installed. Any actual electrical work — including but not limited to wiring, connection of lighting, sockets, switches, fused spurs, or integration of electric fires and appliances to the mains — must be carried out by a qualified and competent person (e.g. NICEIC, NAPIT, or equivalent Part P‑registered electrician, or as required by Building Regulations and the law).
It is your responsibility to arrange and pay for any electrical work and to ensure that all electrical installations are designed, installed, tested and certified by a qualified electrician. We accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury or regulatory breach arising from electrical work performed by you or third parties, or from any reliance on us in relation to electrical installation. Any specifications or layout suggestions we provide in respect of lighting or power are for convenience only and do not constitute electrical design or certification.
4. Form, structure and building regulations
Our "form" work (e.g. studwork, partition walls, plasterboard, joinery, cladding) is carried out in line with our quote and your instructions. We do not provide structural engineering or architectural services. Where load-bearing work, party walls, or Building Regulations approval are relevant, it is your responsibility to obtain any necessary consents, permissions, calculations and certificates. We will not be liable for any failure to comply with Building Regulations or other legal requirements that fall outside our agreed scope (e.g. electrical certification, structural sign‑off). We recommend you confirm with your local authority or a qualified professional where applicable.
5. Quotes, contracts and payment
Quotes are valid for the period stated (or 30 days if none stated) and are subject to a site visit and written confirmation. A contract is formed when we accept your order in writing (email or signed agreement). Payment terms (deposit, stage payments, final payment) will be set out in the contract or quote. You must ensure the site is safe, accessible and that we have the information we need (e.g. existing services, access, parking). Delays or extra cost caused by your failure to do so may be charged.
6. Limitation of liability
We carry out our work with reasonable skill and care. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or in connection with our services or these terms shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us for the relevant project in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (e.g. loss of profit, business, data) or for any loss arising from work done by third parties (including electricians) or from your failure to obtain consents or comply with regulations.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always on this page with a "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance. For questions: NxtlvlBuilds@proton.me or 07488 279 962.
